Jewelers Now Open in Peters Township
After scouting the
market for three years, Joe Urbanowicz finally found the perfect
spot to expand his family business. The new store’s proximity
to his home in Peters Township is more than merely coincidence.
“It wasn’t just a matter of plopping down a new store,” Urbanowicz
says. “We live in McMurray, and have always liked the area. We
have a lot of customers that live out this way or have moved out
this way.”
The new Urbanowicz
Jewelers Peters Township store is located at 115 A East McMurray
Road (next to Century Sports).
For a quarter
century, Urbanowicz Jewelers has been a destination shop in the
Caste Village Shoppes in Whitehall. The Peters shop brings the
quality and service customers have come to expect into a new
setting. While the Caste Village store has a more traditional
French provincial décor, customers enter the new location
through a modern glass atrium, which features the Urbanowicz
logo sandblasted on the door and diamond shapes on the frosted
glass walls.
“It’s a very
different feel,” Urbanowicz says.
A lounge affords
patrons a cozy spot to surf the Web or enjoy a cup of coffee
while a children’s entertainment area keeps little ones busy
while mom and dad shop, Urbanowicz says.
Like Caste Village,
Peters Township is a full-service jewelry store, offering
everything from watch battery replacement to custom diamond
design. Using the GemVision computer design system, patrons can
see digital images of a finished custom piece before it is
created. Diamonds can be remounted, pearls restrung and antique
jewelry refurbished and appraised in-store, he says.
The already-full
line of merchandise has been expanded to include Simon G
diamonds and colored gemstones, Nancy B. gold and semi-precious
gems, Movado clocks and time pieces and handbags crafted by
designer Debbie Brooks, Urbanowicz adds.
The store is open
from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
From the day the
Urbanowicz jewelry tradition began with Joe Sr. in 1950 to Joe
Jr.’s expansion in 2007, the importance of family has been
reflected in every business transaction. Joe Jr. says that
customers often say that shopping at the store is “like having
a jeweler in the family.” |
