The Frog N’ Princess makes fairy tales come true
By Charlotte Smith

Ever since it opened its doors 14 years ago, the Frog N’ Princess has understood how special a child’s early years can be, and how important it is to listen to what a child says she needs when she wants to look “magical.”

Since the early 1990s, Peters Township children (and their parents) have sought out a location where they could go for fashions specially tailored for the young. The Frog N’ Princess brings the styles popular in New York and Europe to McMurray in sizes, shapes and designs created to fit infants through pre-teens.

Renee Lingle decided to open the Frog N’ Princess when she realized that children and parents in the South Hills had nowhere to go to find styles that were unique and that made them feel enchanting.

Unique to Peters Township, the Frog N’ Princess features girls’ sizes preemie infant through pre-teen, and boys’ sizes preemie infant through size 12. Girls’ items include pant sets, dresses, skirt sets, coats/jackets, shoes/boots, swimwear, hair accessories, hosiery, jewelry, and gifts. A recent store expansion created a separate preteen room that includes sportswear separates, casual skirt sets, party dresses, suits, shoes/boots and handbags.

Items for boys include separates, sport coats, suits, tuxedos, coats/jackets, and swimwear.

The store’s “special occasion” section includes christening outfits and accessories, along with gifts.

A full-line of flower girl dresses and ring bearer Eton suits and tuxedos are featured for wedding attire. In January, a Communion Trunk show is held with Pittsburgh’s largest selection of communion attire for both boys and girls along with accessories and gifts. Books, toys and gift certificates are also available for purchase.

Kids who shop at the Frog N’ Princess are on the cutting edge of fashion, sporting clothes inspired by TV and movie stars. An example are those by Juicy Couture, along with brands like Lipstik and English Roses (which is named after Madonna’s books). The European look is exemplified by clothes inspired by Catimini, Deux Par Deux, and IKKS which is exclusive to the Frog N’ Princess.

For boys there is a wide range of classics from Wes & Willy, along with trendy jeans, cords, microfiber cargos, and the popular “skull and crossbone” t-shirts.

The store is bright, colorful and always cheerful. “The Frog N’ Princess makes fairy tales come true.”

The Frog N’ Princess has moved to a new location. The new location is 3015 Washington Rd. McMurray PA 15317. The store is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information call 724-941-8589 or visit www.frognprincess.com
